Ramakrishnan Parameswaran alias Selvam was born to my paternal aunt Smt. K. Bhagavathy alias Chellammal and her husband Shri Parameswaran in the year 1947.
Since childhood he and his brother were brought up in difficult circumstances and were dependant on their uncles. My cousin Ramakrishnan was a brilliant student who proved his mite by scoring a First Class at his SSLC examination which was definitely an accomplishment during those days, especially under those circumstances. However, life took a different turn in his case at later stages. Rather than pursuing his education, he chose to work as freelance or full-time accountant for some small-time firms in and around Kochi.
During one such assignment, he met with Ms. Rukmani Ammal who eventually became his wife and they became parents of two brilliant children, namely, Parameswaran Ramakrishnan alias Ganesh and Devarajan Ramakrishnan alias Mukesh. Following Rukmani Ammal getting a Government job at Tiruvananthapuram, son Ganesh was left under the care of his grand mother till he finished his education earning a First Class Master's degree in Science (Biotechnology). Ganesh chose one of his college-mates Rasmi as his life-partner and they got married with the blessings of Rasmi's parents. Later, Ganesh left for Tel Aviv (Israel) in pursuit of his research, soon followed by wife Rasmi. I lost touch with Ganesh soon thereafter and now learn that Ganesh is a father of two children (named Surya and Satya) and is settled in the United States of America with his family.
His second son, according to available information, is studying for MBBS at Tiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He lives with his mother Rukmani Ammal who continues to work for a State Government organisation in Tiruvananthapuram.
